An Intentional Approach to Skincare
I think about skincare the same way I think about food: choose simple, minimally processed, nutrient-rich, and local whenever possible.
Tallow embodies that philosophy perfectly. It’s a whole, nutrient-dense fat with a lipid profile similar to the oils our skin naturally produces, which allows it to absorb easily, support the skin’s natural barrier, and reduce moisture loss.

How Bœuf Began
Long before Bœuf officially existed, I'd been making tallow skincare for myself, then for family and friends. Over the years I refined my dry-rendering process, experimented with formulations, and listened closely to feedback, until friends started asking to buy jars.
Today, Bœuf lets me connect with Vancouver Island farmers, small businesses, and customers; celebrate the abundance and wild beauty of this place; and create clean, traditionally made skincare consistent with my values.
Simple Ingredients, Slow Process
Every Bœuf product starts with fresh, locally sourced Vancouver Island grass-fed suet (grass-finished too when locally available).
Made in small batches, I slowly dry-render it into tallow, then blend it with organic botanical oils and therapeutic-grade essential oils. The result is clean, simple skincare with no additives, no fillers, and nothing synthetic.
